You're In Good Hands
I wanted to take a moment and share with you how our community health center (GCHC) has been important to me and my family.
The obvious is that GCHC is my employer of the past 25 years. I like my job, and I like what GCHC does for our patients. We fill a vital role in the communities we serve.
What is the face of GCHC patients? It is me. I choose to come here, because of the good care I receive.
What is the face of GCHC patients? It is my Grandmother, my Mother, and my Father. They lived in Greene County and utilized the SHMC. It was easy to access, and in their hometown.
What is the face of GCHC patients? It is my son, who as most of you know suffered a heart attack last month and required surgery. What most don’t know is he had just started a job, and therefore his insurance was not yet in effect. Because we exist, and have programs to help patients just like him, he is able to not only receive primary care in Pamlico County, but also receive assistance for his insulin until he is able to go back to work and get on insurance. He intends to remain our patient, due to the care he has received.
(W)ithout Pamlico Community Health, I would not be here today. They literally saved my life. They worked me through everything. They’ve treated my complicated medical issues, which aren’t treatable with one quick pill fix. It’s important to know they care about all of me and all aspects of my health. (They) directed me to very good referrals who took me without question, even at the time that I had no insurance. They do treat you as a whole patient and (have) very competent staff at all levels – be it the front desk, the lab, the physicians, the physicians assistants, nurse practitioners – and I’m very grateful for all they offer us in the county. (They) are a great blessing to all of us in the county and I hope others will reach out and use (them) as well.
